Healthcare Professional Demand Pivots Due To COVID-19 Vaccine

Healthcare Professional Demand

With the COVID-19 vaccines being rolled out across the country, healthcare professional demand is at an all-time high. In addition to an ongoing need to staff testing sites—ensuring an optimal distribution of vaccinations is a crucial step to helping combat the pandemic. With that being said, locations able to administer the vaccines are gearing up to do so as soon as possible—and there are many opportunities for healthcare professionals to lend a helping hand.

Who can get involved?
Roles involving administering the vaccines are open to a broad list of licensed healthcare professionals. This includes Doctors, Nurse Practitioners (NPs), Registered Nurses (RNs), Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), Pharmacists, and Physicians Assistants (PAs).

“As healthcare facilities look to resume a sense of normalcy and get their employees vaccinated, they need the support of these professionals more than ever,” says Amanda Cruse, a Senior Managing Director within ES Healthcare, a division of The Execu|Search Group.

Benefits of taking on these roles
“Healthcare professional demand is very high in general and these opportunities are highly desired, not only for their flexibility and compensation, but for the ability to assist during a (hopefully) once in a lifetime opportunity,” says Amanda.

Since roles can be part-time or full-time and shifts are usually 12 hours at a time, there are opportunities for everyone—whether you’re looking for a full work schedule or to pick up some extra shifts.

Additional ways to assist during the pandemic
While the demand to staff vaccination sites is up, there are other pandemic-related roles that are still very much in need. These include roles for contract tracing and testing for COVID-19, at testing sites, hospitals, and in schools.
