A few of Execu|Search’s employees recently partnered with one of our clients, Volunteers of America, to spend the day at the Bronx Early Learning Center. A nurturing special education program for children between the ages of 3 to 5, the center services up to 250 students in small groups to help focus on providing the appropriate education services to students with developmentally disabilities.

ES Healthcare has a long-standing partnership with the Bronx Early Learning Center and Volunteers of America. Since the start of our business relationship, we have done our due diligence to source and contract the right professionals to provide direct therapy-related services to the children of these organizations. And this past Friday, we got to watch their amazing work in action.

“I commend each Director of Volunteers of America,” said Meghan Savoia, an Account Executive with Execu|Search who helped arrange the event. “As someone who works with them daily, they consistently take time out of their busy schedules to truly treat us as a reliable and resourceful partner. Their passion to continuously improve the everyday lives of these children is truly remarkable, and I’m glad we got to be a part of it and see it firsthand. Without a doubt, it takes a special type of person to care and do whatever it takes for the well-being of these young kids. I’m proud to know that our company is consistently looking for experienced, patient, and compassionate professionals to join their ranks.”

While our relationship is usually business, Friday was focused on fun! Under Meghan’s guidance, we made our way up to the Bronx to spend the day with the children of the center. We were given a tour of the entire facility and got to meet different teachers, therapists, and volunteers who work with the kids. Once our tour was over, we got down to the fun stuff. Each classroom was brought one by one into one of the center’s recreation areas where we simulated a snowball fight with. After working up an appetite, we treated the children to an ice cream buffet with all the works, including chocolate syrup, whipped cream, and sprinkles. Everyone had a ball, especially the kids who spent a good portion of the time chasing us around with the faux snowballs.

It was a humbling and rewarding experience for all involved and, per the request of the children and staff, we’re invited to return any time we please. Needless to say, we can’t wait to take them up on their offer and get back there soon!
